June, the gateway to summer

Ah, beautiful June brings forth a very promising and well-awaited Summer. Summer is our favorite season at Lovebox as the sun comes out to warm both our skin and our hearts and brings out the happiness in all of us. But that is not all that we are celebrating this month, on June 17th we will also be celebrating our incredible fathers!

Contrary to popular beliefs, the Lovebox is not a product just for women. Yes, it's true, thousands of you enjoy the benefits of the Lovebox daily and it has come to our attention that there are many Misters in our customer bases. Therefore, we would like to share with you the story of Lucas, a young man who uses the Lovebox with his father, Claude, as Lucas has gone to live abroad. Lucas gratefully shared his story with us,

“I have a very close relationship with my father. He raised me as a single father and I have to say that he has always been there for me. When I decided to move to Canada, last September, it was not easy to break the news to him.  This was the first time that I left the house to finally become an adult, far away from him.

In the beginning, I hadn’t really thought of getting him a present. And then finally a friend of a friend spoke to me about Lovebox. He had gifted the Lovebox, with his sisters, to his parents before they moved to Sweden. After explaining to me the whole concept of about 10 minutes I found the idea wonderful. The next day I ordered my Loveboxes. I am in admiration of all connected devices and wanted to try this out with my father. My father also loves technology and since receiving his Lovebox he has loved the concept just as much as me.

It has been a little over 8 months that we have been using Lovebox and every day it is just as cool, as much for me as for my father. For example, sometimes, it happens that I don't send him any messages for a couple of days, even though he sends me spinning heart reminders. These spinning heart reminders help us to not forget about each other. Infallible technology!

Anyways, all of this to give you all a general idea of my experience and to say that I can't wait to see what comes next. Thank you!”

This month we would like to introduce to a super member of the Loveteam. Sound good? We will take that as a yes!

You see that handsome young man in the photo above? That’s Marhold, one of our great interns! The LoveTeam's playlist!

Mister Jack Land, a previous minister of culture in France, instated the first fête de la musique. This musical event was nationally held for the first time on June 21st, 1982.

On this day, thousands of musicians all over the country, amateur and professional took their music to the streets. Each street corner, park and grande place was filled with live music. Thousands of people came out to listen to them, celebrating all kinds of music and talents.

Every year since 1982, the fête de la musique has been celebrated in France on June 21st, it has even spread to a couple of other countries as well. This event also helps to celebrate the beginning of Summer, letting people come out, celebrate each other, art, music and the warm months to come.

Want some fresh air? Sun and fresh lemonade? And what if you were to organize a picnic this weekend? It’s usually a great way to give yourself time to relax and enjoy the company of your friends and family. Whether you have it in your backyard, at the park, in the mountains, by a small creek or even in the city, picnics are adaptable for all environments!

At Lovebox we love picnics! So we thought we’d share with you some ways to prepare one, to make sure that you have the best time possible with your loved ones.

The recipe for a great picnic:

❤ Choose a day where the sun isn’t too shy (but also be careful in the sun, use sun protection and drink lots of water)

Pick a relaxing spot to have your picnic; by a river, in the park, in the mountains etc…

❤ Invite people that appreciate you (and that can make you laugh!)

❤ On the kitchen side of things, opt into simple foods like Taboulé, rice or pasta salad, quiche, fresh fruits etc…

❤ Don’t forget to think about your equipment! A picnic blanket, cooler, cutlery (preferably recyclable materials only) glasses to stay hydrated and a couple garbage bags to keep the area clean once you are done.

❤ Bring activities!! Some card games or active team games to keep you laughing.

❤ Lastly, don’t forget to put lots of love into your picnic!
